Annotation: Hansen’s record (Hansen 1980: 231) of Genista sylvestris from Corfu geographically marks the southeasternmost point of this affinity, and is to be assigned to subsp. dalmatica (which is already known from Albania) in respect to morphological (rigid thorns, spreading hairs) and chorological reasons. However, a critical evaluation of the weak discriminative characters within the Genista sylvestris complex is still needed, and attention should be given to the similar, but hexaploid (not tetraploid) Genista michelii of Apulia (cf. Cusma Velari & Feoli Chiapella 1991). [2018-05-01]
