Annotation: The stands of Pinus nigra on Corfu (summit area of Mt. Pantokrator) obviously are forestations, as they consist of rather young trees uniform in age. Only recently on Cephalonia, 5 individuals of P. nigra were discovered (within the Abies cephalonica forest of Mt. Enos). This occurence is considered indigenous (with reference to Neolithic remains on Cephalonia) by the authors (Efthymiatou-Katsouni & Phitos 2011), who did not report on a possible age of the present trees.
