Annotation: Apart from the variable Chenopodium album and Ch. giganteum (both hexaploid with 2n = 54), the affinity of Ch. album is represented by the tetraploid species Ch. betaceum (commonly known as »Ch. strictum«) and Ch. striatiforme both of which are poorly documented in Greece. The presence of the latter on the Ionian Islands may not be native and needs further critical investigations.
