Annotation: So far not known from Greece Pontederia crassipes (syn. Eichhornia crassipes) was found only recently (2022) on Corfu, growing in seasonally flooded wetlands near Acharavi. The species is an aquatic plant native to South America, naturalized throughout the world, and often invasive outside its native range. In 2016 the species was included in the List of Invasive Alien Species of Union concern. Member States of the European Union must take measures to stop their spread, implement monitoring and preferably eradicate these species. [2024-11-10]
