Annotation: Plants with longer, patent hairs on stem and calyx (in addition to the indumentum of short and ± bent hairs) have been described as M. graeca var. villicaulis, based on material from near Corfu town (»Analypsis et Kanali«: Formánek 1895: 141). Such populations are known from several places on Corfu as well as from the Diapontian Islands (e. g. Othonoi) but their appearance is not linked to any ecological or geographical separation against »typical« M. graeca subsp. graeca. [2016-06-22]
