Annotation: Torilis pseudonodosa is a pronounced South Mediterranean species, but its taxonomic ranking and the separation from T. nodosa is controversial. (According to Reduron 2008: 2539–2541, who treats the former as T. nodosa subsp. webbii, differentiation in leaf morphology and rosette forming connected with phenology seem not fully correlated.) However, on the Ionian Islands both obviously autogamous taxa are present, usually occurring as homogeneous populations, but we have also observed populations with both morphotypes intermixted without intermediate plants.
