Annotation: Published records of Nymphaea alba from the Ionian Islands date back to the early 19th century, therefore in »Vascular plants of Greece« (Dimopoulos & al. 2013: 285) the species was supposed to be extinct in the region. A rediscovery was made quite recently, when Giannis Gasteratos found the species in 2017 at lake Gaidarana, a remote area in Central Corfu. [2017-11-02]
