Annotation: Sideritis purpurea was described based on material from Corfu (where the type specimen was collected) and Zakynthos (»in insulis Corfu et Zante«: Bentham 1832: 742). Probably all published records of »S. montana« from Corfu (see Halácsy 1902: 501; Halácsy 1908: 85) belong to this species. In any case, records of S. montana cited by Formánek 1895: 142 turned out to be S. purpurea (Vandas 1909: 475). [2016-07-24]
